Hello, Wildomar!
Like me, you have probably been seeing a lot of social media banter and news coverage of how over-populated the animal shelters are - throughout our state. August is national "Clear the Shelters" month and a great reminder for all of us to do our part with making sure our family pets are spayed and neutered, and to always do what we can to adopt or rescue an animal that is need of its fur-ever home.
Responsible pet ownership is a key factor, as Animal Friends of the Valleys recently shared with me that they have been getting a lot of overnight "drop-offs" which is contributing to the overcrowding of the shelters. A furry friend can be a great addition to your family, but only if you are ready for that life-long (their life, not yours) responsibility.
If you need information on ways to better connect with us, please reach out to me, my colleagues on City Council or Kimberly Davidson our Economic Development Director & Public Information Officer ( [email protected]).
#GoWildomar
Sincerely,
Mayor Ben J. Benoit
