Western Community Energy (WCE)
Published on Feb 10, 2020 10:35
Many of you have recently received flyers from Western
Community Energy (WCE), stating that you are “opted in” to a new electric
service as of April 2020.
WCE was formed in 2018 to provide residents and businesses
with a cheaper and cleaner choice in their electricity supply. WCE’s Board of
Directors, comprised of locally elected officials from the jurisdictions listed
above, recently adopted a rate schedule that will save WCE customers about 2%
on their electric bills compared to their current bills.
Participation in WCE is voluntary; customers can OPT-OUT of
WCE and remain with SCE if they desire. WCE will provide customers with a rate
comparison between WCE and SCE to assist them in their decision-making.
For residents and business interested in learning more (or
to opt-out), go to www.westerncommunityenergy.com
or call (866) 356-4175.
NOTE:
We will be discussing this at Wednesday’s (2/12/2020) City Council meeting
(Agenda item 3.1). All are welcome to attend. Our Council meetings begin at
6:30 pm.
There
will be WCE representatives at the Council meeting to answer questions as well.
