CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters are preparing for a series of severe strong Pacific storms that will bring heavy rainfall to Riverside County beginning Sunday evening and continuing over the next 8-10 days.
For immediate danger of water damage (water is coming into your dwelling) you may pick up a limited number of sand bags up from Fire Station #61 on Gruwell Street between Palomar and Grand. For proactive preparation to your property you may fill your own sandbags with FREE sand located at Marna O’Brien Park on 20505 Palomar Street. Marna O’Brien Park is located on Palomar Street between Mission Trail and Corydon Rd.
CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department Chief John R. Hawkins wants to remind residents that personal safety should always be top priority. Nearly half of all flash flood fatalities are vehicle-related. Do not drive through flooded areas! If you come across a flooded area while driving, stop, turn the car around and find an alternate route that is safe. Road closure signs and barricades posted and enforced for your safety and that of emergency responders
